“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”

– Zen Shin

a little about me...

As a mom of four young children, I know how chaotic, busy and overwhelming life can get. When things at home aren’t going well, it can feel like nothing in other areas of your life are working. My goal is to help you create a strong family unit so that you can take on anything life throws at you.

My educational background includes a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Toronto as well as a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from the University of Calgary. I am a registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

As a practicing Social Worker since 2010, I have over eight years of varied social work experience. Working with families in a hospital setting, including the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), has been a large part of my work. I continue to work with children and families at CHEO as part of their abuse and trauma team. Additionally, I am a course instructor in the Faculty of Social Work at both Carleton University and McGill University.

I am influenced by an attachment-based developmental approach and attachment theory. I have training in play therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), FRIENDS for Life, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT).

I understand how overwhelming it can be to reach out to a stranger for help and guidance, but when we are facing challenges, seeking support is the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. My goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgemental, and safe space where you can openly and honestly discuss your challenges.
